Ellen's grandfather was a European tailor. She learned many sewing techniques from this master worker. Over the years she has taught quilt making, needlepoint, and embroidery. With the other side of her brain she became Bat-Mitzvah as an adult. She has also taught Hebrew for Adult Learners and other Adult Education courses. Ellen worked as a Rabbi's assistant for many years, moving deeper into her love of Judaism, becoming familiar with its laws and rituals.

We created a chuppah for our son's wedding, then one for his best friend's simcha. And so Chai Chuppah began. As of 2004 we have delivered our chuppot to states up and down the Eastern seaboard. When we moved to Phoenix, Arizona, it gave us the opportunity to expand out West. So, wherever you live, we'll be happy to work with you.
